1. Who we are
Kathu (kathu.vipzlab.in) is a product of VipzLab (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using Kathu you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, the Tokens, Coupons & Refunds policy and the Content & Acceptable Use policy.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 18 years old, or have a parent or guardian create and manage the account.
- Give a real name and an email address you can access. You sign in with a password or with Google.
- Keep your password safe. You are responsible for what happens in your account. Tell us at vipzlab@gmail.com if you think someone else used it.
- One person, one account. Accounts created to collect welcome bonuses or referral rewards may be closed.
3. Letters
- Drafts are private to you. Published letters can be opened by anyone who has the link, the short link or the QR code. Do not put anything in a letter you are not comfortable sharing that way.
- Published letters are not listed publicly and ask search engines not to index them, but we cannot stop people who receive the link from forwarding it.
- A link stays open until the date shown when you publish (by default 30 days after your last function). You can pause it, shorten it or pay to extend it. After it ends, visitors see a “not available” page with no personal details.
- Guests can send RSVPs, wishes and reports through your letter. You can hide or delete replies; we may remove abusive content.
- We may show a small “Made with Kathu” badge on letters unless you remove it as a paid extra.
4. Tokens
Publishing and some extras use tokens. How you get them, what they cost and when they can be refunded is explained in the Tokens, Coupons & Refunds policy. Tokens are not money and cannot be exchanged for cash.
5. Your content
- You keep ownership of the names, words, photos and music you add.
- You give us a limited permission to store, resize, display and deliver that content only to run Kathu — for example to show your letter to your guests and to make its share images.
- You confirm you have the right to use every photo and music file you upload, and permission from the people shown in your photos.
- Music: use only music that is copyright-free, royalty-free with a licence that allows sharing it this way, or made by you. Film songs and other copyrighted recordings are not allowed. Music you upload belongs to its owner — Kathu does not own it, does not check it before it is shown, and will remove it if the rights holder asks (see Grievance). Letters with uploaded music say “Music added by the family. Kathu does not own this music.”
- Music in our library is either Kathu Originals (composed for Kathu by VipzLab and free to use in Kathu letters) or third-party royalty-free music used under its licence and credited on the letter. You may use library music only inside your Kathu letter.
- Follow the Content & Acceptable Use policy. We may pause or remove letters that break it, and suspend accounts that repeatedly do.
6. Our designs
Templates, loaders, animations, artwork and the Kathu name and logo belong to VipzLab or our licensors. You may use them to share your own invitations through Kathu, including downloading and printing your letter images for personal use. You may not copy them to build another product.
7. Availability and changes
We work hard to keep Kathu running, but it is provided “as is”. There may be maintenance or interruptions. We may change features, designs or prices; prices you already paid for (published letters, extras) are not taken back. We will tell you about important changes to these Terms by email or in the app.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, VipzLab is not liable for indirect losses, or for losses caused by guests not receiving or opening a letter, wrong details you entered, or third-party services such as WhatsApp, email or maps. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the value of the tokens you bought from us in the three months before the claim (or ₹1,000 if you only used free tokens). Nothing here limits rights you have under Indian consumer law.
9. Suspension and ending
You can delete your account at any time (see Account & Data Deletion). We may suspend or close accounts that break these Terms, misuse referral or coupon programmes, or put others at risk. Where reasonable, we will tell you why.
10. Law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Please contact us first — most problems are solved quickly. Courts in Kerala, India have jurisdiction over any dispute.
